Amit Kalyani



Amit Kalyani of Pune, India is a global businessman with a strong strategic acumen and an extensive background in technology, international business relations, and mitigating volatility within emerging markets. Since October of 1999, Mr. Kalyani has served as the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director of Bharat Forge Limited located in Pune, India, where he is heavily involved in the company’s strategic planning, especially as it relates to global business development, marketing, exports, upgrading technology, and manufacturing.

Throughout his 20 years at Bharat Forge, Amit Kalyani has aided his father, Baba Kalyani, the company’s Managing Director, grow sales year over year. The confidence that Amit and Baba both hold in their organization reflects in all they do, making them an appealing partner and supplier to other industry leaders, especially those located overseas. As it stands, over two-thirds of Bharat Forge’s business comes from outside of their central location of Pune, India, which has led the company to establish plants around the globe, export their products all over the world, and build upon their current annual revenue of $3.5 billion.

Most recently, under the leadership of Amit Kalyani, Bharat Forge began expanding into new, high-tech sectors such as engineering, electric vehicles for the Indian market, 3D printing, and more. This venture has aided Bharat Forge in growing and deepening their reach with prospective partners, and aligns with Mr. Kalyani’s perspective on developing a strong and thriving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Past Positions

Prior to joining the Bharat Forge leadership team, Amit Kalyani also earned valuable executive experience during his time as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Kalyani Investment Company Ltd. Furthermore, he served as the Deputy to Carpenter Technology Corporation while he lived and pursued a higher education degree in the United States.


Amit understands that a strong educational background is an essential building block of long-term success. As such, he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in 1998. Even still, Mr. Kalyani believes that one can always learn and improve more, and that viewpoint led him to pursue an OPM in Strategic Business Management from Harvard Business School from 2014 to 2016.
